Ingredients
Pizza base:
- 1 cup plain flour
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp oil
- ½ cup milk or water.
- Tomato paste
- Tomatoes
- Onions
- Garlic
- Mushrooms
- Pumpkin/kumara pieces (Bake in an oven until golden and then cool)
- Spinach/silverbeet
- Cheese
- Fresh herbs
- Onion
- Optional leftover cooked meat.
Method
Mix flour, salt, and baking powder together in a bowl.
Mix the oil and milk (or water) together in a cup and pour into the flour mixture.
Mix together and form a ball. Place on a lightly floured chopping board or bench. If too wet, add more flour. If too dry, add more water/milk.
Flatten with palms of hands or a rolling pin to make a flat pizza shape (1cm thick). Lightly flour a baking tray. Form the dough into a large flat circle/rectangle on the baking tray.
Cover with your favourite toppings and bake in oven at 200°C for 15–20 mins or until base is crispy and toppings are golden.
